Coaching FAQ’s

Because I’ve spent the majority of my career in client-facing roles, I’m extremely tactical by nature. I invest dedicated time ahead of each session to customize our agenda and I ensure we leave each session with concrete learnings & next steps.
From a job search perspective, I have varied experience as candidate (every job I’ve gotten was from reaching out to a stranger on LinkedIn) and I’ve been on the hiring manager side.
I have a real love of words and my ability to articulate is my most consistent compliment from clients. This shines through in my resume re-writes, 10+ networking scripts accessible to all clients and any strategy session (interview prep, review prep, etc.).
-
• 15 Minute Complimentary Consultation: A call to explore what you’d like to accomplish and how we can best work together.

The ideal number of sessions differs for each client depending on the goal. If you are a new client, you can book a 15 minute consultation call where we will discuss your needs and make a session plan.

8 Sessions: Ideal for anyone looking to have support for the full job search, including finding clarity on your next step, setting up a search strategy, securing interviews, preparing for interviews and negotiating offers. I can’t recommend Marnie highly enough for anyone navigating their next career move. When I first reached out to her, I was overwhelmed with anxiety after losing my job, facing the challenge of updating my resume and LinkedIn for the first time in five years, and figuring out what I wanted to do next. Marnie was a delight to work with—empathetic, insightful, and incredibly skilled at breaking down what felt like a daunting task into manageable steps.
Throughout our multiple sessions, Marnie helped me identify my core values and what truly mattered to me in my next role. She provided detailed feedback on my resume and LinkedIn profile, giving me the confidence to present myself in the best light. Her mock interview questions and preparation tools were invaluable—I went through 8+ interviews and made it to the final round in most, thanks to her guidance.
What I appreciated most about Marnie was her ability to simplify the complex. I tend to overthink and complicate things, but she had a way of making everything feel straightforward and approachable. We worked together on refining my responses to interview questions until my story was not only polished but also perfectly aligned with my personal values and career goals.
Marnie wasn’t just a coach—she was an advocate, someone who believed in me and gave me the space to celebrate my wins and learn from my losses without judgment. Thanks to her support, I’m proud to say I landed my dream job at Square, and I couldn’t have done it without her.October 22, 2024

Marnie’s approach to utilizing LinkedIn in my application process was a game-changer. She crafted an informed strategy that significantly increased my interview rate, helping me connect with key industry professionals and opportunities that I might have otherwise missed. Leveraging LinkedIn was instrumental in expanding my network.
Marnie’s interview preparation sessions were exceptional. She provided insightful feedback and tailored coaching that made me feel confident and well-prepared. Her advice on handling challenging questions and presenting my strengths effectively was invaluable, and it greatly improved my performance during interviews.
In addition to interview prep, Marnie played a crucial role in strategizing salary and offer negotiations. Her thorough preparation and advice ensured that I was able to make informed decisions and secure a competitive offer.
Throughout the entire job search process, Marnie was not just a coach but a true teammate. Her unwavering support, encouragement, and collaborative approach made the journey more manageable and less daunting. She was always available to provide guidance, celebrate milestones, and offer constructive feedback.
In summary, Marnie’s exceptional skills and genuine dedication make her an outstanding career coach. Working with Marnie was an all around fantastic experience!
I was transitioning from being a classroom teacher and that was all of my experience coming out of college. I didn't have a clue as to how navigate the job search market. After the initial consultation meeting, I felt much more at ease and felt assured that she would be able to help me reach my goal of obtaining a new career.
She was immensely helpful in helping create my resume from scratch. We were able to discuss experience, and she tweaked it with ease to catch the eye of recruiters. Each section was impactful and spoke to what value I could bring to companies.
When it came time to interviews, she walked me through a mock interview and gave the opportunity to practice giving various answers. When I was unsure how to form an answer, she offered to model an example of how she would answer the question, and it gave great reference to how I could format my response.
She frequently checked in during my job hunt offering help all along the way. She even helped establish some connections and kick off some conversations that ended up leading to interviews.
I would recommend Marnie for any/all steps of your career journey! -
Tiffany Johnson, Product and Business Specialist @ Apple
I had the pleasure of working with Marnie when I needed to update my resume after leaving a position I had held for almost a decade. With my skills rusty and the job market having evolved significantly, Marnie's expertise was invaluable.
Marnie not only helped me polish my resume but also provided crucial strategies that I took to heart. Thanks to her guidance, I successfully applied, interviewed, and accepted a role at Apple, with the ultimate goal of pursuing a more advanced role there.
What stands out about Marnie is her ability to provide targeted feedback that truly makes a difference. In my case, I was so well-prepared that I was offered a permanent position immediately after interviewing for a seasonal role—an uncommon achievement at Apple, where candidates typically undergo multiple rounds of applications and interviews.
Marnie's support was instrumental in helping me make a significant impression right from the start. I am confident that Apple can be my forever company, and getting my foot in the door with such a positive start means the world to me. I attribute this success to Marnie's expert advice and my own research on their specific interviewing process.
I can't thank Marnie enough for her assistance and I will undoubtedly be seeking her guidance again when it's time for a promotion. I am excited about the big things ahead at Apple and having Marnie by my side will be crucial for my continued success.
A big thank you once again, Marnie!August 3, 2024

Working with Marnie was extremely helpful and has already payed for itself many times over. She coached me through a job offer and helped me negotiate which I had never attempted before. The negotiations were successful and will benefit me for years to come!
On top of this, Marnie helped me plan my transition out of my (now former) job in a way that worked for me and covered my work and social bases. Without her to help guide me during this time, I would have been an anxious mess.
Getting Marnie's perspective and experienced advice was grounding, fun, and practically helpful. She has set me up for success and I will be happy to return as a client in the future when needed. I highly recommend Marnie's career coaching services to anyone who feels they could use support in negotiations, job transitions, and career pathway explorations. An added bonus is that her personality was warm, professional, and genuinely caring, which made me feel very comfortable and at ease.May 25, 2024

Marnie was an absolute joy to work with and was instrumental in helping me land my new role!
I was laid off from my company in December 2023 due to a reduction in workforce and found myself thrust into one of the toughest job markets of my professional career. I was trying everything and I had gotten a few interviews here and there, but was having a really hard time getting further in the process just due to the sheer number of applicants. That's when I found Marnie. I found her via a Podcast episode she did for Career Contessa on resume dos and don'ts. She was instrumental in helping me navigate this tough job market and helping me stand out. It was pretty disheartening and I was beginning to lose confidence in myself, but Marnie helped me with great feedback, ideas, and support, and helped to build that confidence back up that I had begun to lose. She helped me in so many ways, but really customized the experience to what I felt needed work on, specifically my resume, interview prep, and how to stand out in interviews so I could land an offer. I have done some great things in my career, but I was having a hard time articulating them in my interviews and she really helped me craft my story both on paper in my resume and verbally so that employers would see what a standout candidate I was. With her help, I was able to land my top choice role and I couldn't be more excited!
I can't recommend Marnie enough! She's a lovely human with a warm and inviting personality. She has excellent experience and really great knowledge from her vast background in different industries and roles. I am actually looking forward to continuing to work with Marnie as I grow in my career and definitely when I'm on the hunt for my next role. If you want an excellent partner on your side to help you in your job search and also excelling in your career, you've got to work with Marnie! You won't regret it!March 21, 2024

Career coaching with Marnie has been the best investment in myself and my career. Before coming to her I was feeling defeated and absolutely exhausted with my job search. After one 50 min session with her, I felt like I could breathe again. She had such organized plans of action for us to take and so much insightful knowledge about resumes, LinkedIn, cover letters, and reaching out to recruiters. She is literally the Resume Queen, we re-worked my entire resume into something I am truly proud of and I’m excited to send to companies. She also took me through her thorough process while editing so I can make changes to my resume in the future as well.
When I started applying to jobs with my new resume and following her steps on reaching out to recruiters on LinkedIn, I heard back from two companies that I was really interested in within the day about scheduling interviews for the next week. I am forever grateful that I have Marnie throughout this career process and for literally giving me my confidence back.
She listens, takes notes throughout sessions, gives insightful feedback, and is truly invested in the success of her clients and is so passionate about what she does. She covers everything from your LinkedIn profile to your resume, and cover letter to create a professional brand for yourself. I bought one session initially to see if it actually helped and right after I quickly bought the 4 session packet so we could have time dedicated to resume, cover letter, interview prep, etc. This entire experience has been so positive and wonderful and I’m so excited to continue to work with Marnie in the future!

Jennifer Stanten, Enablement Program Manager @ Airbnb
I worked with Marnie over the last several months while I was job hunting and she was there every step of the way.
Marnie helped me prepare for key interviews, reviewed assignments that were part of my interview process, taught me negotiation strategies and how to be confident in these situations, and asked thoughtful questions to help me uncover my strengths and the stories that showcased them. Each of our 50-minute sessions was very impactful, and I always left feeling more confident and prepared.
Marnie would remember important dates, interviews, and conversations and proactively reach out to me to offer her support and share some words of encouragement. Her coaching sessions helped me feel super confident in interviews and ultimately land a job that I am really excited about!!November 20, 2023
